The Weight Update (Finale?)

05/10/2008; 168 pounds; 3 pounds in two weeks; total loss of 40 pounds

I am not going to say that I'm disappointed for only losing three pounds in two weeks. Honestly, I rarely got on the scale since my last weigh-in. That's me up there in an Ann Taylor dress, size 8, friends and family. I've never been a size 8 in my life. Even as a middle and high school student, I wore anywhere from size 12 to size 18.

I'm very, very happy with the way I look right now. I've had my last appointment, but still purchased two more weeks of supplements. Actually, with what I already have in the pantry, I probably have a month's worth. Also, if I'm running low on something that I particularly love (like chocolate milkshakes that help keep my voracious sweet tooth at bay), I can always go to the website and order more. My plan is to keep doing the coffee/soups/shakes during the daytime, and eating sensibly at night by working in smart carbs like whole wheat bread and pasta (cutting out processed flour products altogether), sweet and red potatoes, and continuing the sugar-free lifestyle. I'm really hoping to maintain all the hard work I've put in to the program.

Also, I'm going to start exercising, to tone up a few places, like my arms, tummy and thighs--it IS bathing suit season, after all! I'm thinking Pilates. My sister does Pilates and she really likes the program. So we'll try that out and see how it goes. Of course, I'll keep y'all posted.

My reward this go-round? Richie took me out to lunch at SeeWee Restaurant in Awendaw. I hadn't been in three years, and was so, so, so good. For an appetizer, Richie and I both had the she-crab soup. It's so creamy and delicious--and full of crab. For an entree, I ordered the oyster basket with sweet potato fries and onion rings, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Richie ordered the shrimp basket done SeeWee style--grilled with a marinade of Old Bay, garlic, olive oil, lemon, and sherry. I tried one and it was so delicious that I knew it would be what I ordered the next time we visited.

For now, this is the end of The Weight Update. But, if I lose anymore weight, or happen to shape up, y'all will the first to know!

Hope y'all had a wonderful and happy Mother's Day. I know I did!

Toodles!

Thank you so much! I'm glad that my journey has inspired you. I want people to know that if I, the obsessive-compulsive eater can do it, anyone can!
