Richie and I celebrated our ten-year wedding anniversary on August 7th, and we're leaving this Friday night for Charlotte. I have to tell you, I'm excited, for a couple of reasons:

1. Richie and I rarely get a chance to spend time together as a couple, and even less time to actually go away together. Not that we don't love our kids, but your marriage shouldn't completely be about your children. Couples need time alone to remind themselves why they're a couple to begin with! It's always nice to go out to dinner and not have to worry about eating somewhere that's guaranteed to serve chicken tenders and pizza. I am looking forward to having a weekend-long date with my husband!

2. I'm going to see my first professional football game--Panthers vs. Ravens. Yeah, it's a pre-season game, but still--professional football! I've always enjoyed going to the South Carolina games, because the atmosphere in the stadium is AMAZING. I can't wait to see what it's like inside the Bank of America Stadium. PLUS--it's football! Grown men plowing one another down. What's not to like?

I've been in the throes of preparation all week. Making lists, doing laundry, listening to my Katy Perry station at Pandora.com...ok, maybe that last one isn't really part of me going away with Richie for the weekend, but she's pretty great and I did want to mention it.

Toodles!
