100th post! (and other stuff)

First and foremost, my thanks go to my husband Richie, who started this whole thing by buying me a laptop back in August 2006. We began watching American Idol together in the second season (How we loved to make fun of Kimberly Caldwell and Carmen Rasmusen!), and he always supported my writing about American Idol, and encouraged me to broaden my horizons by writing about my life, our family, and even making a foray into fiction. Thank you, my love, for being my enabler and my sounding board, and being so understanding and forgiving when my obsessiveness reaches a fever pitch.

I also have to thank my friends at HBR (now MMP) who started laughing at the snark I emailed them about the Top 24 rounds of Americal Idol Season 5, and then started passing it around to their friends. I realized that my "saved" folder in my Yahoo email wasn't going to have enough room to hold all my Idol-related chatter. So thus, "So Obsessed" was born.

I really don't think that my 100th post should just be about my 100th post. It's a little too meta, don't you think?

I want to write about American Idol today, but before I do that, I want to tell all my fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans to visit this link: www.megangogerty.com/freegifts.html
If this blog had a theme song, this would be it!

Anyway, American Idol. I'm really conflicted about AI this year, because knowing that so much of it is fake really disappoints me, and that makes me more cynical and jaded. I want to boycott it for my friend Tiffany V, who is an awesome singer, and was yet turned away. And how many really stupid, bad singers will we see this year? Oh, hundreds, at least. But then, the commercials for the season look so great and different, that I'm conflicted. Plus, I don't know how much blogging I'll be doing about anything that happens on Wednesday nights, because of my much more important obligation to the Children's Choir.

In other news, I'm having a great hair day and my head doesn't hurt. I haven't had coffee in three days, but I was major jonesing this morning, so I pulled into Anglers and bought a cup of Cinnamon Roll, and now I feel like a million bucks.

Toodles!
